About Us
The unarmed security officers in the Campus Security Division provide campus security services 24/7/365. The dedicated officers in this division increase campus safety through proactive security services and fostering strong relationships with campus communities. Our services include campus patrol, security escorts, building lock/unlock, motor vehicle assists, contracted security services, and event security.

Brandy Guzman
Security SergeantIn addition to leading Campus Security efforts, Brandy also oversees the contracted security services with university partners. Prior to joining the U in fall 2020, she served as a security operations coordinator for Discover Financial Services. She has more than a decade of experience as a security professional, serving in various positions, including senior physical security and life safety officer, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and field radio operator and Electronic Key Management Systems (EKMS) manager with the United States Marines. Brandy holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a concentration in homeland security and counterterrorism.

Security SergeantIn addition to leading Campus Security efforts, Sean is oversees the patrol unit. He has more than a decade of experience as a security professional. Prior to joining the University of Utah in fall 2020, Sean worked as a security dispatcher, intaking and processing emergency calls to basic security requests as a plainclothes operative. He was also a state of Florida security instructor, and he worked as a security host/officer for Walt Disney World. Sean holds a certificate in security technology.
